AmpKit - Guitar amps & pedals App Reviews

I recently unlocked all pedals and amps. I think the emulation is really good and the fact that it works with Irig pro makes it even better! App= 4 stars That being said, Im a little disappointed that theres a little note that says anything new will be unlocked for free! Why would that upset me you ask? Now I realize that they meant new amps and pedals which Im now convinced will probably never be released! What I did not realize is that they would offer me something "special" which included guitar tabs, tuner, blah blah, for $2.99. I took the bait! (I even clicked the link that said I have unlocked all pedals and amps.) Very convincing! In the description, it appeared that all would be included because I had unlocked all pedals and amps. In reality, their special offer was a base app with the ability to do other in app purchases which my freakin dead grandmother couldve gotten never having owned AmpKit. I guess the devil in the detail should have applied here! Marketing scam – 5 stars I overlooked it! Dont do the same Fortunately, Ultimate Guitar.com has offered me something "special" too. I dont think Ill risk it!

After upgrading my iPad Air there is an issue with the software. If you turn on the option to use AirTurn devices the keyboard pops up and will not close. The keyboard covers the effects pedals that appear at the bottom of the page. Ive tried using third-party keyboards and also called Apple support to see if there was a workaround for the keyboard issue. There is no workaround and will require AmpKit to fix this problem. Its a little disappointing that something this simple can render the app useless for live performances.

Just upgraded to the newest version and wish that I had not. This used to be my favorite guitar effects app. Although it may not have been intended for live use it worked just great for the last 2 years for playing live in our church’s praise band. That all ended with the new version that was just released. The newest changes to the noise and feedback filter severely limit this app for live playing as it is now nearly impossible to get a strong enough signal out of the app for live playing applications. Thus, this app is really only useful now for practicing, which is ashamed since it worked so well before the update. Again, it probably wasn’t designed with this use in mind but the newest filter changes are just too aggressive in my opinion. Plus, I have to say I’m also sick of the in-app purchase ads that pop up every time you open the app. I will have no choice but to go back to analog pedals for playing which means I will rarely use this app anymore. Another example of how progress does not always equal improvement (see the Apple Podcast app for the quintessential example of this!)

The program is number one to me! I was an idiot not buying the whole amp/pedal upgrade. The sounds can be used in garage band as an effect! Thanks for all your hard work this program rocks....literally!!!

There is a keyboard stuck all the time, I cant access any of my Amps or pedals. this needs to be fixed.

The demo is worth three stars...sounds pretty good. But with no inter-app midi & no audiobus support, I must delete thee & move along.

One of my favorite amp and effect apps is now on AudioBus iOS 8. AmpKit is any many ways the easiest to configure and most versatile of the many many amp sims available.

I own the fully unlocked versions of all the popular amp sims: Jamup Pro, Bias, Amplitube, PocketAmp/Rockshop... But in my opinion Ampkit is handsdown the best sounding of them all! Full rich stereo effects and nice clean and saturated distorted amp models. Unlock all the goodies in this app and you got yourself a wonderful sounding and versatile guitar and bass rig. I would recommend it for both for the practicing or recording musician. The quality is good enough to be used in a home recording studio set up and gives you access to a plethora of sound shaping capabilities and gear that would otherwise cost you a small fortune. Invest in this app and you wont regret it. Creating your own set of custom presets is easy and limitless. I absolutely LOVE this app! Thanks a lot for the audiobus update! Two thumbs up!!

The best amp app!

Being positive grid hasnt fixed the issue with my iOS for iPod four. I searched for a replacement and found this. SOUNDS WAY BETTER SO FAR. Just wished prices was more affordable but guess ya get what ya pay for. Just started with it tonight. Gonna run on full system setup tomorrow. May have to make the switch to this product. .

I have used all of the various effect apps out there. This one is great, especially because I can get all of the amps and effects at once at a single price.

Great sound! I hated how other apps would sound and I figured they all were like that. Until I got this one. I bought all amps and pedals and the best part is that it will work with GarageBand to record seamlessly while sounding great. Definite necessity if you want to play/record guitar through the iPad.

The best modeling amp for IOS. I bought the whole thing without knowing it seamlessly works with GarageBand, that made it even better! However when recording on GB once youre done and wish to make a new track using ampkit, youll have to force close ampkit and create a new link for the new track. Not terrible but it sure can be fixed. Otherwise sound and tone of amps and pedals are just as the title states, fkin awesome !

This application peddles upgrades at nearly every click. So if you like ads then this app is for you. It is fun to use but one of these days you may get enough of those buy me buttons and uninstall it like I’ll probably end up doing.

I got the app because I wanted a good bass tone to go direct on the iPad, so I bought the in-app Ampeg b15 simulator. Ive had nothing but trouble with it. Feedback, low gain, weak tone, overall useless and more problematic than others Ive used. I dont want to bash anyones hard work on the software or whatever but I just had to say, after many chances Ive had no luck with it. Hope that helps someone!

I use it live, at home recording, jamming with friends; my Triaxis rack setup is getting lonely. Tons of great, high quality, great sounding amp/effect/cab/mic models. Great job Agile! Keep it up!

Ive tried all of the guitar amp sims on the App Store, and without a doubt, this is the best. Theres amps from several big-name companies, and also some smaller (but just as good) ones. The pedals are a perfect complement to the amps. The basic effects (reverb, delay, chorus, etc.) are done beautifully, the more advanced effects (modulations, acoustic, ring, etc.) are equally useful. But the ODs and distortions are the real stars. Very realistic, very versatile. Highly recommended!

Love it use it all the time

The clean channels sound pretty good, unless you use a noise filter that they supply, then bass strings sound "clunky" is the best way I can describe it. Their chorus is great. Easy to find a good mix using a couple in line. All distortion units that Ive tried (and I have the whole package) sound like noise. Theres no full sound at all. Unless youre a child or a metal/noise head I dont recommend their pitiful distortion units. And that kills the usefulness of the app.

Have the full blown version. Worth it totally. Went thru it again tonight and it renewed my interest in playing. These all sound great. Thanks Agile, keep going!
